Participants in the competition class compete individually and must closely follow the rules along the course. The man and woman with the fastest times win.
After completing the competition, participants in the competition class receive ranking points, which are used for qualification for the European and World Championships.
For some obstacles, only one attempt is allowed; if you fail, you must hand a wristband to the official.
The three best men and women will be rewarded with prize money, 5000 SEK, 3000 SEK and 1000 SEK.
The Obstacle Run is sanctioned by the Swedish Athletics Federation. By participating in the competitive class, you earn ranking points to qualify for the European Championships and World Championships. The competitive class also starts according to the current ranking list. The number of start groups depends on the number of registered participants.
In OCR, there is zero tolerance for doping, so to keep the sport clean, there may be random doping tests for participants in the competitive class.
To participate in the competitive class, you should be able to run 8km without difficulty and have some experience with obstacles. Participants in the competitive class should be able to handle most of the course without problems.
To earn ranking points, participants must also be a member of a club affiliated with the Swedish Athletics Federation.
You can find your ranking ID here! If you haven't participated in a sanctioned OCR event before, you won’t have a ranking ID.
After your first sanctioned OCR-race, you will be given a ranking-id, if you are a member of a team connected to the Swedish Athletics Federation.
